How is everyone? I’m tired. Why? Oh, it’s because I had a big weekend full of comic convention goodness, hanging out with friends I don’t see nearly enough, and more comic book work than I can do. My new secret pitch is coming along nicely, I think you guys will really dig it. I’ve been working in Google SketchUp building models for it. I know I owe you a color tutorial as well. It’s coming this week I promise. All that said, I need to level with all of you devoted fans and it’s hard to really explain, but where goes.

I do have a few pitches for new OGN’s going out really soon. Hopefully something will click with a publisher and I’ll get a green light! Hooray! Chickenhare, though I love it, makes me $0.00 and if push comes to shove there could be another hiatus in the future. Not now! it’s okay. I just wanted to let you know it might happen so it’s not  huge blow. I would never abandon it because it’s forever my baby, and I love it.

oops!

Woke up this morning and realized I totally forgot to do a page this week. I was so wrapped up in creating set pieces for my other pitch, I just totally forgot about it. Not very cool, I know. On the other hand… it was a nice unexpected break. Here’s the bad news: I was already planning on taking next week off as well since I’ll be with family for an extended weekend. So… I guess enjoy a few weeks off on me. Again, Sorry.

Original art contest!

Say what?! Here’s the deal people… Traffic ’round these parts has dwindled to a trickle as of lately, so I was thinking of ways to help that issue out. I could advertise on Project Wonderful? Did that and it was good… on the day I advertised and then BAM! Nothing. SO now I have a new idea. Maybe even a cool idea, and one you could get in on if you have a website! Do you have a website?

Screamland art and an update

It became obvious to me with my current schedule that there was NO WAY I was going t be able to complete 3 issues of Screamland before the deadline. That said I had to bail on issues 7 and 8, but I’m still doing the covers for those issues. Speaking of which, here’s the cover for #7.

 

I was really bummed to have to pass on the next two issues, but I was afraid if I stayed the course I would throw everything out of whack for months for the Screamland team. My hat’s off to those poor, awesome bastards who do the monthly comics gig with a regular job and family mixed in. This was a lesson learned for me and most likely the last time for a while at least that I’ll be taking on extra jobs, even cool ones like Screamland.

I’m trying to post some art on a more regular schedule lately so here’s some more. It’s been a crazy week to say the least, but crazy in the best way. I wanted to let everyone know ow much it meant to me to be flooded with emails, texts, facebook, tweets and every other way possible with so much excitement and encouragement about the movie news. I’ve been dying to say something for so long, but as some of you might know, I was legally bound to keep my trap closed until Sony decided it was time to make the big reveal. I’ll do my best to keep you posted as things come up (if I can discuss them..;). Thanks again to all of you, I’m pretty sure my feet only touched back down a few hours ago.
